Mass applying to tech jobs doesn't work because each posting gets hundreds or thousands of applications. The real path to employment is through personal connections and referrals from engineering leaders, not blind submissions.

Mass applying does not work. We as human beings confuse activity with productivity. I'm gonna apply to 500 jobs today. I did my job. I'm good. I have— I'm on texting basis with a lot of engineering leaders at this point in my career. They all send me screenshots. 600 applicants, 1,000 applicants for one job. Do you think your application is going to get seen? Where is the power to find a job right now? It's the person to the left or right of you.
