why tech conferences are so important #techconference #techcareer

Talk about just the importance of just being, going to conferences. There's a couple things that happen by going to a conference. One, you get to be with your peers. You get to be with people in your industry. You get to be with people that think like you, have probably same interests as you, which is very, very special. Second, you get to get the pulse of your industry really, really fast. We'll get a sense of like where the trends are going, where people are going. More importantly, getting face time with your customers, your vendors, the people you work with, and having that drink, sharing that joke, whether people are really it or not, a lot of people are just optimizing for fun. And so yes, you are laser-focused on building your company or becoming a leader and building your career. The guy across from you just may want to have fun, and that's okay. You should want to embrace that too. And conferences is a boondoggle. People want the break. That's why conferences are so successful.
