Taylor Desseyn shares how volunteering to speak at a boot camp seven years ago led to a job at Torque. One conversation can compound into unexpected career changes if you show up and make genuine connections.

You have to understand something. You are one conversation away from changing your career. One. The job I have now, 7 years ago, I volunteered to speak at a boot camp. 7 years later, I get this job at Torque. And I asked my manager, I'm like, hey man, how did you— 'cause he told me he was following me on Twitter. Uh, yeah, so-and-so introduced me, or like so-and-so told me about you. And that person was the person that invited me to speak at the boot camp 7 years ago. You have to understand something. Network compounds.
