Taylor Desseyn explains why colored fonts and fancy design won't help your resume. Focus on clear, well-written content instead. A plain format beats a portfolio-style design every time.

Chapters

Your uniqueness will come through if your resume is good, not because you use a blue font. Your resume is not a portfolio. Your resume is not meant to have color. Your resume is a way for people to find, locate, and reach your career easily and efficiently for them to call you. Your resume needs to be boring. Uniqueness of your resume is how well your resume is written. The content is what's gonna make it set apart from others, not colors.
