Hello, welcome to this episode, the People, Results, and Systems framework. Um, I'm very excited to share this with you today. And which one of these three dimensions do you focus on first when you want to make profit or get results in your project or your nonprofit? The three dimensions we teach in all our training programs. So it's not just about a methodology, it's not just about a system, a process, or technology, but it's as well that a successful business is not just about money. Or why do we do business? Businesses don't sell and buy anything, it's people. So it starts with people. And let's talk about people first because we can make projects better and we can improve the world. And like cleaning the oceans, developing new medications to heal disease, building schools for children, making— our environment a better place and bringing food on the table and having fun communicating with others and creating. So yes, I personally believe that people should be as the purpose of our business, a better life for the people should be in the center. And interestingly, today, if we compare organizations, profit, nonprofit, how successful are they growing? The ones who put in their focus of decision-making people on a higher pedestal than just the profit, they grow faster. So, but you would agree that a person— let's start, let's come to ourselves, let's talk about people. Here we have 3 groups we're talking about, and we focus out in our trainings, leadership programs, and in project management. It's me, myself, my team, and my stakeholders, aka clients and decision makers. So it's me, myself. And here we have two things. We are leading ourselves, our team, our stakeholders, clients, and we are serving them. And we are communicating with ourselves, with the clients, with the team, with the stakeholders. And this is kind of leadership and communication, what's all about, right? And we are looking about skills.
So if I'm working for myself, or if I'm talking to myself in a negative way, I might take negative decisions and I might be grumpy to my team and I might be grumpy to my clients or ignoring even my stakeholders.
So this is how I personally believe they are so much linked.
And it starts with us. It starts with the people we want to serve. It starts with the people who we communicate with in order to get something done. So learn to lead yourself first is essential as one of the big pillars. Know thyself and inspire and influence others. Become a confident leader in business and life.
Be nice to yourself and others.
Be kind. And we are all in different stages on our journey on becoming more self-aware, developing ourselves, getting out of our comfort zones, co-creating, learning languages, learning skills, feeling emotionally more confident, less confident with the one or the other action. So this is why we have a coaching program added to our project management training where we coach over a course of a year people leadership skills to become more confident. And the biggest turn I see after 6 months, it includes personal development. And it's so fun to see different people, a new person doing the exercises, doing the roleplays, acting as if. We do a lot of life experiences and to shortcut the learning curve and give them feedback.
And the nicest thing is then when these people step up and say, wow, we learned so much. And today I'm running now number 10 project, big construction projects, for example, and they're very successful, feeling more successful and more equipped than people who just have the theory. The formula for Leading Simple is lead yourself, lead your team, lead your stakeholders. If you're not happy with how your team acts, start looking at yourself. How do you show up? How do you act? What kind of sample do you give? What do you believe they can do, they will do? If you don't trust, if you don't believe, it might be difficult. If you don't talk to stakeholders, don't be surprised as they come up and ask questions or even block and show that they want to be taken seriously and that their expectations or interests are not met, right? And this is so much fun with the people, and basically I love to doing workshops and seminars live with the people and meeting people all over the world. Now, how can we create value in all our programs? We love to teach the technical aspects and the methodology of project management and upleveling different skill sets for communication and leadership. Leadership. And as well, today we added this mindset aspect because what you think is possible can be possible. What your mind can conceive, you can achieve. So what do you think about your clients in a conflict, or what do you think about others when you hire them? That will inflict— influence your project result very, very much. And I invite you, if you are now in the situation where you struggle, where you have conflicts, Try to see it from different perspective. Try to take, be a video camera and observe everything. Don't take everything so personal. Go step out of that situation or try to uplevel your energy. Try to sleep. You will take a better decision when you slept well in the morning. So learn to communicate, learn to show empathy. Have empathy with yourself and have empathy with other people. There is— this is important. Prepare your meetings so you honor the time of the people there. Give them a structure. Um, your self-awareness, like we love to— this DISC communication style to introduce it because it's simple, it's fast, and it helps us very easily to understand what are the needs, what is the information the other person wants. Um, build rapport, listen. We all need community. We want to be heard.
We want to be acknowledged.
We want to be listened to. Practice mindset routines. Understand team roles. We love the team management system very much. It's very easy and beautiful, these 8 team roles, which is easily, and once we know them, that we understand. If you want to fill in all these team roles by your own, by yourself. In the beginning, it's the challenge when you start as an entrepreneur or when you start a project before you have the team. But at least to have an assistant or to have somebody you can collaborate with, they don't have to be in your company. That is something really beautiful and makes a lot of fun. And our values and beliefs, or our values drive our beliefs, and these Beliefs then show up and our values show up. So we love to measure them.
And we use a tool, the 9-Level Values Profile, to measure them, to show this is our team values, these are our values. And it's a lot of fun and creates a good baseline for all the other things we want to do. And at the very beginning of every workshop, every seminar, we don't start with the foundation of the methodology or the theory, but we start with introducing each other to ourselves and presenting ourselves or making interviews and learning, getting to know somebody we did not know in our team before. And these are so powerful, 30 minutes or an hour, it depends how many people you have in the room. And that makes, creates an atmosphere of trust and open communication. That you need to achieve the results and build the systems in order to create magic. So I encourage you in your next workshop or in your next meeting, whether it's online— now we are all online— take some time and let the people introduce themselves, have some 2 small questions, and just, you know, focus on the people. Yes, it takes more time, but it creates bond, it creates energy. And that is what you need to get the magic results. Now let's go to the results. Results.
The first, we have been talking about the people. Now we have the results. Here we have 3 big parameters like in every project. You have the quality, you have the time constraint, and the money. And let's talk about results. So We have always to take decisions, right? What is more important for us? Getting results or saving money? Spending time or spending money? Doing it alone or hiring a team? Getting other resources or spending time and money to get the final result? And so much more. These are questions we are confronted every day. And we have these 3 constraints: find out what is the priority, And in our Project Leader Academy, we teach you how to create a clear vision about that project outcome, about the results, and to share it with your team, get your stakeholders on board, and have as well an aligned vision with your clients. What are their expectations, their needs? And then that is so powerful to get support you never dreamed of as possible. We teach you a proven framework to plan execution so that you can feel great with implementing and getting results faster. I'm German, and so high quality has always been very important. My mother is a perfectionist, and with my international team, that is a part I always brought that value into the team. But today, in this fast-moving environment, we had to learn to achieve excellence, and high quality is a journey, and great communication communication as well. So we want to have fun while becoming better every day. And we all start somewhere. Our students have been working in so many countries and different languages. They really today more confidently step up. They take decisions. They can set priorities faster. And it's really fun that they do it because we do experience-oriented, like, experiences, like a week boot camps where people practice role-playing project of big decisions. And by doing that, they really get this experience, like, automatically. They don't, they don't need a book. They know the course of the project just in their head, you know, number 1, number 2, number 3. And we experienced by visualizing projects. We used Lego Serious Play, which is an amazing tool. We used drawing. We used different things. But as well, video is cool. Storytelling is cool. But visualizing, drawing, or even playing with Lego, having a 3-dimensional model of that future project is so much helpful, identifying the missing puzzle pieces. And setting a shared intention that really fills in the blank spots by the team. And we found out what were we missing, like the financing or missing expert stakeholder support. And it was amazing to see how we can, in a fun and playful way, create a shared vision and get people behind. And with that energy of like-minded people, that was transcending after we got away from the workshop into the daily work and gave us a boost. And we had fun and we had that shared vision and we were excited. And that was driving a speed to get results and to get a quality and to find solutions. You could never believe in before. So very, very great success stories we can share about that. Then money, understanding money and project financing is a very important skill. I have been working for a lot of industry, industrial solutions, and they have amazing technology. But when they go to the clients, usually clients not always have the budgets or the funding for the moment. And one of the things was learning in my journey, learning to talk with different financial organizations like banking institutes, but venture capitals to find— there is money, a lot, and they're just not in the right place to communicate with financing people so they can understand the value and they know why it makes sense to support this idea or this project. And as well, connecting and preparing documents in a way, preparing and communicating the value of our solution in a way that it fits into the world of money. And we need money to get the materials, to get the experts, and to get the results, right? As well, everybody who is in the project, yeah, needs to live on something. And money is as well needed as a resource to get a lot of things from zero up. We have been financing real estate projects with $100 million and more, but as well like $10 million, $20 million, $5 million. Sometimes it's a lot of work to get that done, and basically the same paperwork needed to get these solutions done. But sometimes even the $100,000, we have to show the value. Why do we need to invest in this? It's always value relative. Managing money, controlling bookkeeping, keeping track of your expenses, but as well selling and not wasting the money, negotiating the price, calculating it, the, the interest rates. These are all skills we include in our Leadership Academy, the 1-year Leadership Academy. Selling is serving, and this is why we understand if you have a great solution as an expert, it's very important that you're able to communicate it. So finally, the ones you thought they needed will, can get it. And you know, when somebody has a big dream, he finds the funds, he finds the, he finds the ability to communicate it. If somebody wants something, you know, children, they can do it very well. They can convince their parents, oh, this is why I need this bicycle, right? And this is the same way we have to talk. To our clients or to financial institutions to get our projects done. Nothing is impossible, right? But so once we learn to negotiate the best prices for material suppliers and experts on the market, there is a more scarce resource than money. The scarcest resource which we have is time. And learning to manage our own time and being very mindful and respectful with the time of our clients, our team, our stakeholders is very important. So time planning, scheduling, time management. This is something very important skill set we need regardless what you do. If you want to create a life around yourself and creating a plan around your time schedule, if we are working in different time zones like we all know, it is a challenge at the moment when we're working online. If you have children to consider all that, and as well to find mutual time for mutual meetings, but as well time to relax and not just to work, time to replenish yourself with energy. It's very important so you're more effective and not just sitting in front of a computer and feeling disturbed when somebody comes and has a different issue. On the plate. So time, the scarcest resource in my opinion, and it's really cool. I invite you, if you're interested in that, just reach out and we have some time management system tracking things and tables so we can share a lot of insights. And definitely we will share some more resources on that here on this channel. Systems. We are looking at processes, structures, and principles. Processes. There are more systems, but processes, structures, and principles. It's how well do we have established processes. We can be much faster, right? You maybe have not any processes established for running your project if you're just starting, but when you're starting a new project, you may have processes how to do things, how to write emails, how to communicate, or how to— processes for sharing documents, right? How to organize your team, the workflows. There maybe are existing workflows. And yes, maybe you have to add some workflows for this project. So become more effective in your routines and your personal routines, and you have more time in communicating with people. And sitting in silence, finding new solutions, creating new, new amazing outcomes. And you need time to take care of yourself as well. If you have structures, it would help you to find easily your documents. So what are the structures? Because we lose so much time when we don't know where to find the document, right? Do you have structures of the work? So sometimes we lose time because people do the wrong things because it's not well structured, or we are missing very important parts of the work and get stuck. Or how well is the organization structure? How well do you understand patterns? So you understand the hierarchy, because some of us are very good in working in big structures, others need small structures. This is just, you know, we are different human beings. Find out what is a good fit for you, not one-size-fits-all project is good for you. And even if you structure your own work, you will find it's easier to have some workflows and to be faster if you are the one-woman, one-man show. And then if we have, so we have these processes, the communication processes, thinking processes, task and work-related processes. In the structure, we have organizational structure, work breakdown structure, documentation structure. And we have then principles. So do you have principles in life, or do you have principles in your team? How we collaborate, simple guiding principles for you, your team, your family, communicating with clients. It's so powerful. It gives you the feeling of freedom. It gives you the frame for decision-making. Don't make too many because they should be easy that everybody can have them inherited and living by them without watching them. But it should be very clear what is, um, okay and what is not okay, and how would you act. So that would give you the freedom of having the people contributing and getting things done, create greater impact and value. Do you have a set of personal success principles? Did you agree on shared principles in your team or with your clients? Coming back to values, principles are based on values, and we encourage you to start with becoming aware of your own and team values and create a set of shared values and simple guiding principles for all your actions and with the project, especially where you have a lot of creativity that don't have any workflows written, workflows yet, because we want to be creative. But some principles are very helpful. So I hope that is helpful for you to have an overview. So we have been talking today about the People, Results, and Systems framework, where we say the people, we have myself, my team, my stakeholders, aka client. We have the results, like the, the quality result, the money, and the time. And then we have systems like processes, structures, and principles, which are some pillars we have in our leadership program, teaching and coaching our business owners and executives to become not just the expert, but a powerful project leader in business and life. So let me know, um, what was the most interesting part of that for you. And thank you so much for watching. And it was a pleasure serving you today. Happy to hear your feedback on Instagram or leave a review on the page. Bye for now and thanks for watching.
Cheers!
