Hey, numbers nerds. My name is Michael King. I am the CEO of KFE Solutions, a top rated fractional CFO firm in Dallas, Texas. And I'm also the creator of the Connected Accountant. And let me just start by saying, building a bookkeeping and accounting a fractional CFO firm is freaking hard. I've been in the game for six years now, and I remember back to my first couple years. It was a lot of hours. It was a lot of making not much money. It was a lot of taking whatever business I could get from whoever would give it to me. And I remember that I was probably two years into business and there was this one Monday morning where I got to work and it's Monday and I should be ready to face the week. And I was just. I was kind of done. I was burnt out, I was fed up, I was exhausted, both mentally and physically. And I remember being ready to throw in the towel on that Monday morning. But I said to myself, I'm going to give it one more year. I'm going to give it one year, and if I can't figure out how to do this my way in the next year, then I'm going to be done. And it was on that Monday morning that I committed to making three truths a reality in my business or three beliefs about business that I said, these have to be true or I'm done. That first truth or that first belief was that I should be making more money as a CEO of my own company than I was making working in corporate America or working for somebody else. The second belief that I had was that I should be serving clients that I love to serve. I should be excited to come to work and serve the people that are on our client roster. And the third belief that I had was that my personal life should direct my business, not the other way around. And so I committed that Monday morning I said, I'm gonna figure out how to make those beliefs my reality or I'm done. And I'm so excited and humbled to be able to tell you today that those beliefs are now my reality. I do make more money, significantly more money as the CEO of my own business than I ever made in corporate America. I do get excited to come to work every day because I love the clients that we serve. And. And I'm also excited to say that my personal life directs my business and not the other way around. And so now that we have had some of those successes, I'm excited to share some of my lessons learned, some of the mistakes that I've made some of those tips and tricks and hacks that I've learned along the way with you. And that's exactly why I've created the Connected Accountant. It's because I want to be able to bring these lessons to the world. You know, when I was struggling and when I was burnt out, I couldn't find anybody that was telling me how to build this thing the right way. And so I want to be that person, that mentor, that guide for you. So every single week, I'm going to drop a brand new episode on a podcast and on a YouTube channel so you can consume however you want. And every week, I'm going to just share with you one simple lesson learned mistake that I made or a tip or a trick or a hack that was integral in me learning how to build the business that I wanted in hopes that you can take that and apply it to your business. And it will help you to the point that you're making more as a CEO than you did in corporate America, where you're now able to serve clients that you love and where your personal life is directing your business, not the other way around.
