Someone built a Monte Carlo model in Excel that ran a million simulations to predict payouts for a UK game show. The TV company made a pilot with Carl Vorderman, and the model builder got to watch it happen backstage.

What's the most unique or most fun thing you've built? Personal life, work, whatever, using a spreadsheet.
So a couple of candidates for it. One is a TV company approached me years ago when I lived in the UK to build a financial model to figure out the expected payout for a game show that they were kind of designing and preparing. It wasn't the most complicated model, but it was quite an interesting one, like a whole big Monte Carlo thing, ran a million simulations and did probability distributions and so on. But it was quite cool because they didn't end up commissioning it, but it got far enough that they took over a studio and recorded a pilot with Carl Vorderman as the host. And like, I got to come along and be backstage, and that was very cool.
