Short excerpt of a YouTube video ("No Excel, no deal.") featuring Paul Barnhurst and another speaker discussing Shortcut’s Excel integration. Paul emphasizes that Shortcut’s Excel Native/plugin preserves existing macros, shortcuts, and large-file support; he notes Shortcut has both its own spreadsheet and an Excel plugin but argues the product must operate within Excel.
Everything you love about shortcut Excel Native works with your existing macros, keyboard shortcuts, large files and more. Use Shortcut as an Excel plugin so what I think is interesting is even though they have their own spreadsheet they've realized we have to do this in Excel, right? If you look at this website would you know if you didn't already know before that its own spreadsheet in addition to a plugin?
No.
And it's one.
Of the things that I kind of got a little bit frustrated about with some of the early videos. I don't think it was obvious that it wasn't originally in Excel and I would just say this again from a personal perspective. I don't want to be using a spreadsheet tool that isn't Excel. I don't want to use Google Sheets. I'm not interested in using something else that looks like Excel. Like for me if I'm going to use an add in for my spreadsheets it's going to be Excel.
