Excel gets blamed for problems that are actually about poor process or bad decisions. It's unmatched for quick modeling and testing new ideas like pricing or commission structures, especially when you're working alone.
This is sheer laziness. To say Excel bad, software good is bad marketing and it's not telling the truth. You know this and we've talked about this a lot. We always saw Excel as a source of inspiration because it is inspiring. And still to this day, I think it's the best tool we as tech people have given to humanity. Excel is great if you are doing rapid modeling, new ideas, some commission structure, new pricing model, you want to test it fast. It's unbeatable for speed and modeling. In isolated analysis, one person checking things, great tool. In general, when there's low collaboration burden, I would say it's really great.
