As AI handles routine financial tasks, FP&A professionals need to shift toward strategic thinking. The technology simplifies the work that used to take hours, forcing finance teams to find new ways to add value beyond number-crunching.
How do you see FP and A changing over the next five years with the generative AI and just everything that's gone on? Do you see it kind of still being the same, or do you see the function really evolving?
When I started early on in my career and I was truly trying to make my way right, it was around the typical things, taking those that day to day boarding and sort of the ins and outs, the blocking and tackling of the business. You know, when I did it, it was like a lot of heavy lifting. With generative AI and all the tools that are available to teams, I think that part becomes much more simplified. And I think then the focus and the value add comes then on the back end, right?
