A developer describes the multi-monitor setup that lets him ship products faster with AI agents: Claude Code terminals on one screen, GitHub on another, Obsidian for architecture notes on a third, and Slack on a fourth. He uses sound cues from Warcraft III to know when agents finish tasks, keeping the workflow visible and fun.

Everybody's talking about what they vibe coded in 2 minutes, but nobody's talking about the highest leverage thing that actually matters in AI-native development workflows. What do I mean by that? What I mean by that is, what is your actual desk setup like? How is your actual workflow as a human in using these tools? So for example, on one monitor, typically I have multiple terminals of Claude Code, uh, working. Usually I'm setting up work trees if I'm setting up parallel agents to work in the same codebase. Usually here I'll also have a GitHub repo where I could then check on the work as it's being done. So PRs, commits, code reviews. And then I usually have Obsidian up here where it has really great markdown styling and visualization for me to visualize what is the architecture of the software system I'm trying to make, or this new feature thing, how does that affect the entire code base? So I'm usually reading in Obsidian. All the different markdown files, the planning, the research, the actual implementation. And then I have Slack here to talk to the team, talk to customers, and that's it. Just by optimizing my workflows in having multiple monitors, knowing exactly where different information lives, and then when agents come back, like Claude Code comes back, and in these terminals, it's highly visible to me. I have little hooks set up to where when it comes back, it actually has a little Warcraft 3 voice play. Like, it'll say, "Ready for work," or something like that, which, which keeps it fun. So anyway, nobody talks about this, but I'd love to see other people's AI-native development working setups. I think that's actually like low-key super slept on and really high leverage. So think about streamlining your, your desk and how you use these agents in a high-leverage sort of workflow.
