Robert Ta shows two Claude settings that improved his Opus 5 sessions: setting output-style to concise via /config/output-style to cut verbosity and token use, and adding a technical simplified English harness to personal settings. He still prefers some of his 4.8 sessions enough to keep them.

Here's another tweet from Claude devs. You can now set Claude Code's output style to concise. So Jonathan and I talked about this on the last pod, but oh my gosh, they were just like trying to spend our tokens or something. And the whole of AI Twitter blew up about the Opus 5 release saying that it was such a bad model. We agree. So Claude now has a config. So go try it out. If you're an AI builder, please go try this out in Opus 5. If you're using it for any sort of development and you want to minimize your token spend as well as maximize your understanding, I find this makes it easier for me to understand It lowers the amount of prose and verbosity. So turn it on in /config/output-style or set output style to concise in settings.json. And this is what it's going to look like. So if you're an AI builder, check this out, let us know what you think of it. I also would recommend adding technical simplified English to your Claude MB personal harness in your global settings. That's really helped my sessions with Claude Code with Opus 5 go a lot better, though I do still have some sessions with the 4.8. That I'm liking a lot more, which is funny. I'm like not upgrading those sessions. I'm like, stay here, don't restart to update.
