Unfiltered AI Talk: College Life Meets AI Anxiety - CSU Edition | Episode [43]

Video transcript of an on-campus interview by Robert Ta with two college students (Patrick and Farhan) discussing AI’s social and employment impacts. The students give informal reactions about job security, AI-human relationships, hypothetical AI governance (AI president/rights), and cultural responses (resistance, OnlyFans jokes), ending with shout-outs and release logistics.

You real quick.
Sorry, I'm heading. Okay. Yeah, it's all good.
Have a good day. Yo, can I interview you all real quick?
Sure, bro.
Sweet. Okay. Sick. Come on. Did you guys all want to meet?
It. What about you? Yeah, come on in. Sweet.
This is my cameraman, Gabriel.
You rolling?
Great. What are yalls names?
Farhan.
Farhan.
I'm Patrick Farhan.
Patrick. Okay. What do you. How do you spend your days?
Study. Study?
What do you study?
I'm studying data science and econ here.
Data science and econ.
I study and then after he goes to the gym, and then if it's. If there's a move, we hit the rave.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, Cool. Nice. And you too. Yeah, there's a move. Hit the rape.
All right.
What do you study?
Econ.
Got it. Okay, so that. Is that how y' all met?
No.
Oh, okay. So there was a move. You hit nothing. Okay, got it, Got it. Okay, so tell me, do you think AI is going to kill us all? Take our jobs? Thoughts on that?
I think it's first going to improve society a little bit. For a little bit, and then it's going to start kind of creating a reliance, and that's going to be kind of like the downfall.
What do you mean by reliance? Like, I feel like, too reliant on it.
I feel like society is going to start getting too reliant on it. Like already people aren't using or activating, like, the studies done about people not activating, like, certain parts of their brains and not using that. And I feel like that's already like kind of a step in the direction of where AI is going to take us in the next, like, 20, 30 years.
Got it. So what do you think? Is it going to kill us all?
Take our jobs eventually. I do think right now in current society, AI is definitely taking over a lot of our leniencies. And also we're getting into legality issues with it. And then on top of that, a lot of people are becoming too dependent on it, and people are losing a lot of their jobs now because of it. If you take a look at, like, consulting, investment banking, like, eventually, like, those are going to be taken away. And then the people aspects, like why we're hiring people now in the first place, it's just for the body, the person, like, especially that case.
Yeah, got it. Okay. So are y' all worried about your job security coming. Coming out of college?
I think I was initially, I was more of an IB track, and I think it was definitely something that I was worried about. But that field is very personable and sociable. I'm more interested in the tech now. And I feel like at the same time, while there is a worry about certain things or certain aspects of things that at least for now or for the near future, AI won't be able to replicate. So I do. I'm not too worried about job security. It's more about, like, just making yourself as niche as possible to be able to find a career that you stick out in.
Okay. And yourself.
Definitely. I was scared of it. Just because AI is advancing. It's moving on really quickly, but that's a later problem. So it's gotta enjoy life right now. Yeah. Stay in the present.
Like the race.
Life's too short, bro. You never know. I could die tomorrow. But it's calm.
You're right. Okay, so on a scale of 0 to 100, 100 is like, I'm really secure or. Sorry, I am not secure. I'm very scared. Zero percent is. I'm not scared at all about AI taking my job. Like, what percentage you guys at?
I feel like I'm at, like, a. I'm not scared. I guess I know it's gonna happen eventually, but it's more about, like, just making sure that your skill set is as unique as possible so that you give something that. That won't be able to replicate. Like a. I won't be able to replicate. It's more like a positive outlook.
Okay. So you're like. You believe in yourself.
I believe in myself. Exactly. I know what I bring to the table is always gonna be different or unique and add, like, personable characteristics that AI could never bring. So I know that it's always gonna be something that I'll.
Zero percent that.
Zero percent.
You're not worried. That's great. I like that confidence.
Same belt.
Zero percent.
Yeah.
Wow. There we go. I, like, bet on yourself. Absolutely.
Because if you don't believe in yourself, who will?
Exactly.
Who's your best teammate? You. Right. Okay. Okay. A few more hot take kind of questions. AI boyfriend. AI girlfriend. Would you go for that?
No. No, no, no.
If I'm that down bad. You never know, bro. If that bad. I mean, like, plays. Play slow motion is better than no motion, though. But. But, hey, you gotta have self respect.
Self respect, emotion, still motion.
But yeah. So, yeah, girlfriend, I guess.
Okay.
If it ever comes down to.
If it comes down to. Okay. Are y' all dating anybody now?
No.
No. Let's say you were, and they. You found out they were cheating on you with an AI. Is that Better or worse than with a human? You first.
I think it's just like a little worse. Cuz the way AI is right now, it's not complex enough to like have those type of relationships. So it's just like kind of. It speaks on like them as well and like I see their level of self respect. So it's just kind of sad, you know? Like, damn, I got cheated on with like GT7, bro. That's.
I got cheated on by GPT7.
Yeah. Like, my homies would never let that like drop. Like I would hear that until like for years. Like.
But what if it was Claude.
Though?
Like, it's all right, it's all right.
It's a little bit smarter, you know. Like you got that intelligence up there.
Yeah. So what about you?
No, like, I think it'd be worse. Worse. It could be worse because what is it I have that I don't? You literally cannot touch it. Yeah.
What if they became humanoid?
If they became humanoid. If he like six, four, light skin, blue eyes, then I understand it.
Okay. Okay. Yeah. Works in finance.
Yeah.
Six, seven. Six, seven.
You're right.
All right, we got the number wrong. We got the number. Okay. Another question. Do you trust AI more than you trust politicians?
Oh, that's actually a really good one. I think it's like two different ways to look at it. Like one, it's like two extremes. So the way I think about it is like AI is like the extreme on the logical side and then politics is extreme on like the humanity, personability side.
Yeah.
So I feel like most normal people you see, don't really have as much of a facade as like politicians feel they need to hold like a mask to wear. So I feel like we're kind of in the middle, like where we're logical, but at the same time we're not like GPT level logical. But we're also not like putting on like a whole show every time we're out. So I actually don't know. That's actually a really good question. I feel like both are scary in their own sense and we're just gravitating towards a more logical extreme right now. Like with today's climate.
Okay, okay.
And yourself, I'm kind of iffy on it. Just because like with AI, like you have to understand they're getting their information from databases. With these databases, like we don't know if the trust already or like where they're coming from, if there's credibility behind it. But with politicians and whatnot, like there's a human impact on that, like, of course, like lobbying and whatnot. That's like. That's a different whole. Another issue, but it's really just 50. 50 on it. Just because, like, I really cannot give you a full answer on it just because it's all rational, but it just all depends on the person.
We'll see as time goes on. Okay, another question on top of that. AI president or current president?
No comment. Thoughts?
I feel like. Oh, that's actually like, AI, when, though? Like AI right now or AI like maybe 40 years in the future? Like 30 years in the future?
Yeah, you can give me two answers.
Okay, maybe I feel like. Wait, actually, no, shoot. I feel like the president should always be a human being because the leader of a country always has to, like, have some sort of empathy and have, like, traits and characteristics that only.
Is that what our current leader has? No comment. Okay, okay. Okay, another question. Do you think AI should have rights? Like the right to vote?
Nah, fuck no. It thinks too logical.
What if you had an AI coworker coming out of college? Should they have rights?
I mean, are they getting paid? Yeah, same thing as us.
I mean, like AI co worker. Like, how would that work? Like, I don't know, like, they're like, born. Like, I went to school with them and.
Yeah, no, no, Right, Okay.
I don't think so. Because I feel like humanity is what gives you rights or like life, I guess, in a sense. Like animals. Yeah, some level of consciousness. Yeah.
I see. Okay, so do you not think AI could ever be conscious?
No, it doesn't. Eventually.
Okay, so at that point in time, then maybe you change your head.
I'd say, like, for humans, like being born, having to grow up, learning your lessons, stuff like that. AI, like, I don't think it's. It's ever going to be like that. It's all the human aspect and stuff like that.
Okay, okay. A couple more if you'll indulge me. I really appreciate y. Thanks. If AI took over, what job would you want in the robot apocalypse?
Oh, 100%. I'd want to be a teacher for. For like. Like, oh, like AIs taking over the.
World, is taking over Terminator Skynet level. So then what, what, like, what job would you want in the robot apocalypse?
Probably, like, only fans for AI.
Yeah, they'd be like, oh, this is.
Yeah, of course.
Okay, what if they, like, replace it with, like, only, like, AI, Only fans?
It'd be only human.
Like, there's already human.
Yeah, no, yeah, Only humans. Yeah.
Would try to dominate the Market.
I mean, I gotta make money somehow.
Yeah.
You know what I mean? Okay.
So that's. That's the job.
I feel like AI Black Ops gotta be kind of cool. Like, you know, just like, running missions. Like, random the world back.
Yeah. So like, resistance. You join the resistance.
Like, you're. It's like a zombie. Like, you're out there. Like, you're. You have like. Like AI crossbows and that. Like, dismantle AI. That'd be kind of cool.
Yeah.
If any AI.
Okay, so you'd want to be part of the resistance.
Yeah, 100%.
Would you be doing only fans for the resistance?
Only fans on the side. Don't let anybody know that.
Don't let anybody know.
But then, like, the main one is like, I'm Will Smith. I go like, check. Okay.
Okay. So that's just side moonlight gig.
Yeah.
Okay.
Because you got to.
You're. Yeah. You got to hold it down. Okay.
But if any AI, like, watches this in the future, like, I promise you, I was just kidding. We're on only fans. It's all.
It's all hypothetical. All hypothetical.
We're still growing.
We're still kids. It's all good. It's all good. Okay. Allegedly.
Wait, wait. If you had one thing to say to our AI overlords.
Yeah. Say it.
Oh, my God.
Dude, this.
Yeah. Six, seven.
Six, seven. You'll understand later.
Yeah. Okay. Okay, I like it. Give me one word to describe how you feel about AI.
It's like, two words.
Yeah, go ahead.
Six, seven.
Six, seven.
All right.
I think I'm, like, intrigued for sure. Intrigued. Because I don't know where my thought process lies on it yet, but.
But you're intrigued.
Yeah, it's really hard to say. Like, conversations.
That's a good one.
Yeah.
Okay, one more, if you'll indulge me. If you could say one thing to, like, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman, building these AIs. What would you say to them?
Know your limits. Probably it's just, like, there's a certain level of AI that we need in this world, and there's a certain level that, like, is too far, and it's, like, pushing it. And I feel like no one knows because obviously we're not advanced enough for that yet. But it's still, like, people can tell based on, like, empathy and stuff like that. But a lot of stuff in this world is driven by power, in my opinion. So a lot of people won't know where to stop if everything is in their control. So that's like the kind of scary part.
Keep AI with AI and keep humans with humans.
Got it?
Okay.
Clean separation.
Clean separation. Keep whatever AI you out of the AR and then don't have it interfere with basic, like, human stuff.
Cool.
That's about it.
All right, last thing. Do you want to give a shout out to anybody? Anything? Anybody, anything.
Shout out my mom. Shout out my ball back to sjsu. I'm loyal to the soil. Clock it.
I love it.
Shit. Shout out to my family. Of course. Shout out to my rave group. I love y'.
All.
There you go.
Pluck that. That's basically about it.
Cool. Yo.
