Unfiltered AI Talk: "You Can't Argue Zuckerberg Into Doing Good - Resist the System" | Episode [27]

Informal interview (host Robert Ta) with a guest expressing skeptical and critical views about AI. Key points: AI is already displacing jobs and being misused in warfare, AI companionship and therapy are seen as harmful and "horrific," widespread dependence on AI risks dumbing down people and creating cycles of AI-generated misinformation/art, and corporate incentives mean leaders (e.g., Zuckerberg) won’t self-regulate—so collective resistance is needed.
Real quick. Let me just check to see if this is recording. Yes, it is. Great.
All right. All right. Hey. Yeah.
Okay. Okay, so. Oh, heal, heal. Okay. So do you think AI is going to kill us all, take our jobs? What do you think?
Well, it's already taking a lot of our jobs. I think it's a little. Most likely overhyped. And it's not going to be like, the complete, fully automated future that people are trying to sell, but it will definitely mess things up for a lot of people. As for killing us all, not sure about all of us, but, like, we've seen how it's been used in, like, Gaza with the AI systems that they use to, like, target people. And I could sort of see how this could go a weird direction with trying to integrate, like, what was it? Robot dogs in the police force or whatever. Like, I could. I'm not worried about, like, AI becoming sentient and doing its own thing. I'm just more worried about how it's going to be used.
How other humans use.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
I'm not worried about, like, the Terminator.
So do you trust AI more than you trust our current politicians?
It's not a question of trusting AI because I don't AI the humans. Yes, that's how humans use it.
So would you pick an AI president versus current president? Thoughts on that?
Well, someone's controlling the AI president in some way, so it depends on who's controlling it, but still. Is this a video? Yeah. Who does it go to, by the way?
Oh, it's my socials.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I. Current president is pretty bad, but. No, no, I wouldn't. I just wouldn't pick an AI president. I should.
Okay, so thoughts on AI companionship? AI girlfriend or boyfriend? Would you do that?
I think that's horrific.
Horrific.
Horrific is just like. It's. It's just. It's so. I. Hang on.
I can't even. Don't have words for it.
I don't really have. No, I can't explain how horrific that is. Well, maybe I can in a second. If there's another question, maybe I'll subconsciously.
Pause and say, yeah, we'll just take your time. Now cut this part out. So, like, just take your time. Let me know when you're ready.
AI partners. Well, we've already seen how people like actually using AI as a companion, how it can fuck them up because of that. That issue where they just, like, reaffirm whatever you believe. Yeah, yeah, I've seen. I've seen it affect people in weird ways. Personally.
Oh, how so?
It's just like they get really into their. Their own head and they start believing themselves too much and just like. That's weird. Oh, that's the other thing. It makes people dumber because people are dependent on AI. Like, they won't like, if they have a question. I think Google was already doing that, just having. I think every advance in sort of information technology will obviously make people dumber. Like calculators. Having a handheld calculator made people dumber, obviously. Because you don't do, like, shortcuts make people dumber. Obviously. So I don't think that's necessarily bad just because, like, making life simpler obviously makes you need to think less hard. But I think in.
It's.
It's going too far. Like, it's. It's just too much. Yeah. Yeah, it is. Like, people can't write. People can't.
People are barely reading.
Yeah. They can't do anything. And then they would just justify that by saying, like, well, okay, I could write it. But then. And then you're just gonna have a future with AI reading all the writing written by AI and it's just gonna like, they. They have the AI incest people are talking about. Oh, wait, what? Like AI incest? Well, like, I'm really anti AI art for one thing. Okay. One very gratifying thing that has been happening. Maybe they fixed it. I hope not. Is that AI is drawing from other AI art and it's becoming like, oh, okay. Like AI art is drawn from other AI artists. So it's like fucking self up. I see. I think that's good. That's good. Yeah. But I also. And thinking about how like, AI articles on the Internet, which can, like, I think a lot of like, disinformation. Yeah. Like, come from that. But then the AI will be drawing on other AI writing and then it's just going to be like, like the age of information will be completely over.
It'll just be misinformation, disinformation.
Like, you'll go on the Internet and it will just be like trash. It's already becoming trash. Like if you try to like look up just tutorials on anything, just how anything works. It's just like, you need to filter sludge. Oh, yeah.
Okay.
I. I can't.
So there's just so much noise already. Hard to get signal.
Yeah. And I think it'll get worse too.
So. So back on the AI companion thing, are you dating anybody?
No.
Okay, so let's say you were, and then you found out your partner cheated on you with an AI, Is that better or worse than with a human?
I think it would be better because it would be, like, so pathetically funny that I would just couldn't take them seriously because I only get offended by people that I respect. And if you're like that low, I would just, like, it's not even. I can't. I can't take it personally because you're just a dog. I mean, cheating's already like that. But, like, pathetic.
That's pathetic.
Yeah.
Okay.
Because it means, like, you need. Most likely it would. The. The attraction would be that they don't. There's no pushback from them at all.
Okay.
That they. Just. The sycophancy. Yeah. And, like, is he need that? You're just. You're just so weak to me. I can't.
I see.
Okay.
So do you want kids someday? Want to have a family or not?
Sure. Probably not.
Probably not.
Okay.
Okay. So let's say you had kids, or let's say in your family, you know, you have nephews or nieces or whatever, and then they dated. AI. What do you think about that?
The same way I. I would be, like, the most bigoted, unaccepting parent possible in this situation. Very, very. No, no. And I'd be very disappointed in myself for failing.
I see. You'd consider yourself failure of a parent if they got to death.
Absolutely pathetic. Yeah. No, I would. So that's one of the, like, that's one of the reasons I don't want to be a parent. Cause if I see my kids fail in such a horrible way, I just couldn't live with myself. Like, I was just like, that's terrible.
I see. Okay. So off of that. So would you trust an AI therapist?
What does that mean? Trust an AI therapist? Like, use an AI therapist for what? It would just. I. I guess, like, if. No. Hell no. No. Okay. Like, part of the point of therapy is just knowing that there's a human listening to you. Like, and if it's a. And, like. Like, I. I know people who are a therapist, and like, a lot of their clients, one of their problems that they have is that they already feel like the therapist doesn't care about them and, like, they're just doing it for.
Their job and it's just AI and it's.
What's that for?
I see. Okay. Okay. Do you think AI should have rights? Like the right to vote?
No. No.
What if. What if it became sentient and we could prove it? Like, you had an AI coworker or something.
They can Terminator can come for me later. Hell, no. What?
No. Okay, Terminator, Come for me later. Okay. Okay. What's one thing humans will always do better than AI?
I don't know. Probably not much. I'm just a bigot. Like, I'm sure they can do, like, most things. Or at least I think, because AI will dumb down people like, oh, that.
Bar will be lower.
Yeah. So they probably can.
Then it'll be everything.
Yeah.
Over time.
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. And then, like, people won't even be able to discern.
They'll all just be dogs.
Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay. Okay. Let's say you get to the end of your life. Would you rather upload your brain into AI or die naturally?
I. I mean. I mean, that's a whole other question. Because, like, I don't even. I don't view the ideas of, like, cop making a copy of yourself and thinking that that's immortality.
Like your digital twin.
Yeah. It just doesn't even make sense because, like, if you have a twin, then and your twin dies, your twin still died. It doesn't matter. Like, it's not like this continuous consciousness.
Okay.
It's just a copy of me. And that's great for everyone else, but, like, what would you do? Could be funny. Might as well do it.
Might as well do it.
Yeah. Okay.
Yeah. All right, so a couple more. If AI Took over, what I want.
Me as, like a. If they can have a hologram me as a floating head, I'm just like Futurama esque. Yeah, so that'd be funny. You go for that. Yeah.
The Futurama world.
Yeah.
Okay. Okay, two more questions. If AI Took over, what job would you want in the robot apocalypse?
Well, you mean like.
Like, let's say Terminator esque, then, like.
One time their slave, what would I want?
What job would you want in that robot apocalypse?
I. I don't. I. I don't.
Imaginary job.
Imaginary job. Rista. Because I'm trying to get hired right now.
Okay, okay. Top of mind.
I'll bring them their.
Their AI Copy oil. Digital copy. Oh, yeah. They're zeros and ones. Copy. All right, last question. Give me one word to describe how you feel about A.I.
Ick. Ick. Okay. Give me the. It gives me the ick.
Gives you the ick. Elaborate. Just when you think about it, when you hear about it.
Well, when I hear people who are like, you're involved in AI, Right. Yeah. Yeah. Okay, okay, okay.
That's fine. I'll take any judgment.
Okay. I got thick skin when I hear that people. Are you profiting?
So far, I'm all open source and building in public. I'm trying to solve AI alignment so it doesn't kill us all.
Okay, okay, that's different. That's different. Okay. When I. When I hear about it, it's like when I hear someone's involved in it, like, well, the Silicon Valley bros. I'm just like.
Gives you the.
It's like. Like in the most interview. You guys next dismissive, rude way possible. Just like super ick.
Yeah, super heck. Okay.
Yeah. Maybe you could.
Just.
Could you leave out the. The drone striking bit? Yeah, yeah.
You could totally do that. Yeah, totally that. Yeah. Follow me at the Robert Ta. If you want to add me my social and DM me, my social team will tag you when we put this out.
Okay. Yeah.
And I really appreciate the time. Actually, I think you'd have one last question that would be great. Your take in particular, if you had one thing to say to Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, These people building AI change the future of everybody. And with that centralized decision making, what would you say to them?
I mean, they're just trying to make a profit and that's normal. I think it's everyone else's responsibility to resist that because there's no point saying anything.
The system is capitalism, so people are incentivized to make money.
It's hard to fight that. Well, it's like you can't argue Mark Zuckerberg into wanting to do good for the world.
Okay. I think that's a fruitless thing.
Yeah, it's. He's already chosen his path.
I see.
And that just doesn't. That doesn't make any sense.
Okay. So it's up to everybody else to resist that.
Yeah. Guys.
Okay.
Yo.
Thank you. And if you want to find me on Instagram.
