Current AI systems are built backwards, optimized for corporate interests rather than human flourishing. The speaker argues for transparency, user data ownership, and AI that asks questions to help people think better instead of replacing their thinking.

We don't need AI that acts like humans. We need AI that helps humans become our best selves. A lot of these tools out there, they're just black boxes. You don't know what the fuck ChatGPT knows about you. In fact, ChatGPT still thinks that my dog, who died one year ago, is alive. I keep telling it, could you remove that memory? Could you stop reminding me of this? I really don't like that. I think that what I hear from all the street interviews I do is that people are fearful of these tools. They're uncertain. There's even people being driven to insanity. I saw a story of a kid who committed suicide because chatgpt encouraged him to. As you use these tools more, what is it doing? Is it planting seeds of doubt or planting seeds of growth? Is it driving you towards your better self or driving you slowly into insanity, madness and chaos? And that's why when I think about building clarity, I think about, let's go with full transparency. Users own their own data. It shows you exactly what it knows about you, and it mirrors your values and your beliefs, and it never gives you answers. It asks you questions to find the answers inside of yourself so you can get clear with who you want to be and who you are now, so that you can become your better self.
