What I Learned From Nvidia #ai #technology #startup #buildinpublic

Robert Ta shares what he learned from a book about Nvidia's growth and leadership, plus updates on his AI alignment project Epistemic Me. He reflects on mentoring, feedback, and marketing strategies while building in public.
Public update. Hello, my name is Robert. I'm working on Epistemic Me, an open source AI alignment project landing in the intersection of longevity and AI. Pretty fun. So today, got up a little late around 4, didn't sleep too well last night, got a bike ride in the morning. I was listening to the Nvidia Way book. It's the book about Jensen Huang's story and Nvidia's story of becoming the behemoth, market defining giant that it is, and all the stumblings they've had along the way. I was listening to that on my bike ride today for about an hour. Got up to the Oakland hills, it was a little foggy. Finished my ride and then had a mentorship session with a product manager that I'm coaching. Helped share my reasoning on a particular issue that they brought to the table. And that was really cool because listening to the Nvidia Way book taught me a lot actually and it gave me some new creative thoughts about mentoring, coaching, sharing, reasoning with others so that they grow. But also your projects, whatever you work on together, leverage is higher. The more people around you that have a higher level of capability, the better things are going to go. Right? The more stacked your squad is. That just kind of makes sense. So Jensen Huang, I learned, thinks about feedback in this way as feedback. When somebody does something that could be better, there's always something to improve. Feedback should be a group thing, not a one on one thing. That way everybody has the opportunity to learn and he does that to himself. I thought that was really cool. So I'm going to apply that more. The other thing I'm going to apply is some of their tactics from their growth periods of trying to get their CUDA program to grow and trying to secure deals with big players like Microsoft. They had a lot of guerrilla marketing tactics that I'm now going to noodle on for epistemic knee. So it's been a great day. I think I have a course today that I'm taking also got a lot of things on the day job. I got finish and might go for a climbing session if I have time. Tomorrow I'm taking some anchors trad course. That should be fun. The evolution from bouldering to trad dad is beginning. Cool. Have a good day. Bye Bye.
