A brief conversational excerpt arguing that sustainability in AI should be a priority not only for local communities but also for large corporations (e.g., Meta, Tesla). Speakers urge frontier AI developers (Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Altman) to emphasize environmentally sustainable model development and to collaborate with community sustainability efforts.
I think it shouldn't just be local communities it should be big corporations everyone.
Yeah what would you say to Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg, you know, Sam Altman, the people making these frontier models at the bleeding edge? What would you say to them if.
You took an emphasis on creating sustainable models? I think a lot of environmentalists that I know of and activists are really worried about the environmental change causes and like impacts. We need to create a more inclusive environment in AI and it's already so like divided I think one of the reasons is the environmental damage that's already been doing. I think that should be a really big emphasis because this is our home and contrary to what Elon Musk might believe wanting to move to Mars, a lot of people want to stay here and I think big companies like Meta Tesla really should take advantage of the sustainable efforts that the local communities are taking and I think it shouldn't just be local communities it should be big corporations everyone.
