Two people work through how a remote-controlled robot car's power system works. The motor and radio each have their own battery, controlled by the same on/off switch. A jumper that would tie the two supplies together should be removed, and the kit probably doesn't include one anyway.

Okay, so this is, this is the motor, right? It switches these batteries. These batteries go on and off with that switch, right?
And then the radio is powered, the switch right there, by that switch. And this jumper—
Oh, that's on/off.
Yeah, these— this jumper right here jumpers both power supplies together, so you want to make sure there's not a jumper on it.
Okay, remove the jumper that, that would be right here.
Yeah, I don't think it comes with one.
Okay, if there were one. All right.
Well, no, so batteries are staying in just fine now.
