Bolt Navigation uses iPhone tech to guide spine surgery. The system works like a bubble level: surgeons align their phone until a virtual bubble hits the center, keeping it less than one degree off perpendicular. Designer John built software that makes planning and executing 3D angles fast and intuitive.

It's almost like a bubble level where you can, you can sort of move the bubble until you hit the bullseye. That is exactly what it is. It's— and, and John, again, John is a genius at making things simple. Plan the angles and then I'll tell you where to go to achieve them in 3 dimensions, 3 degrees of freedom. Now it's just that simple because of the incredible sophistication and thought that went into John's design and programming to make it so quick and easy to capture that that image. And again, sort of a perfect example of that is you need to have the— when you're taking the image, the, the system needs to be perfectly perpendicular to the floor when you're capturing that image. If you, if you take a picture with it crooked, you're going to introduce error into the system. So you can't take it until it's less than 1 degree from perpendicular.
