The Ascender knee brace uses an adjustable dial to control spring-like assistance that unloads weight from the knee during movement. By reducing strain on the quadriceps, it lowers pressure in the patellofemoral compartment, with some patients reporting no pain on first use.

And that brings in the Ascender, right? So the Ascender is designed with a new biomechanical principle to actually unload weight from the knee. And so there's a dial and the patient can really adjust the amount of assistance, extension assistance in the device. And it acts like a spring, right? So when the patient bends down, it's gonna spring them back up. And that provides a substantial amount of unloading force. Really all that it's doing is it's assisting the quadricep. And when you reduce quad work, right? That's directly reducing pressure within the patellofemoral compartment of the knee, right? You're directly assisting the quadricep and reducing that force as a result. And it is very significant. But most importantly, the result of that is substantial pain relief. And, uh, with the brace engaged first time, he said he had no pain, no pain in his knee, right? So it's a very instantaneous effect just by assisting the quad.
