Tiger Buford explains why Nanochon tested Chondrograft in horses instead of easier animal models. Horses heal poorly like older humans, so success there proves the treatment works across age groups. The study found high-quality cartilage formed even in horses.

Do you think it's do— will do better in younger patients that have more stem cells in their body than older patients?
Yeah, I think we'll probably see faster healing in humans. You know, another argument for using the horse study, I've heard people that are very knowledgeable about these animal tests say that, you know, goats and sheep, that's, that sort of is like biologically modeling the effect you're going to see in those young patients. But the horse really is not good at healing. And the horse is really sort of a model of more like what you'd see in an older patient. Still seeing really significant high-quality cartilage in the horse makes us think that it will definitely still work in older patients. It just might take a little bit longer to recover.
