Tiger Buford and Speaker A discuss why orthopedic surgeons don't know what their supplies cost, and how that gap lets prices stay high. Surgeons face incentives to do more procedures, not fewer. Buford wants transparency to fix the market.
There's a perverse incentive. It means we're gonna do too much surgery.
Our healthcare's so broken. You know, I was talking to some surgeons last week and they, I was asking what do they pay for, you know, this product. They have no idea. The surgeons have no price transparency. They, they are clueless. I would love to see transparency. I'd love to see transparency across You know, products in the US so we have a real market.
Well, the thing is that there's a lot of incentives in the US to keep products expensive.
But I listened to one of his talks, his Deep Gains meeting, and he came right out and said that we don't care what the price is.
