Two founders propose a "Megatron" alliance of orthopedic startups to coordinate care from patient prep through recovery, reducing re-operation rates. Small companies aren't competitors, they say, and can co-host surgeon events at conferences to build a stronger collective presence.

And honestly, I think it's very smart to create a Megatron of small companies. In fact, I would love to develop a protocol with our aim, uh, with products that are even outside of just hardware and biologics that are patient optimization, nutritional optimization, increasing bone mineral density prior to surgery, um, and then post-operative products to create a protocol that actually reduces the reoperation rate because not one product is going to be able to do that. It has to be a collaborative effort. I think that's where small companies can align and become a Megatron, so to speak.
Yeah, the startups should get together and they're not direct competitors, right? And create some of these fun events because you want the same surgeons maybe to come there and do something extraordinary. A force of their own nature.
