Hello guys. Hello guys.
So our speaker today is gonna be Alan Sakin. Welcome. Thank you. He's enthusiastic in AI, robotics, and science. Currently, he's the host of the Eureka Science Comedy, when experts talk about science and future in a very relaxed way. He started his career as a salesman, and then she worked with a high position in several successful startups, and now he's He's mentor of the Founder Institute. So let's welcome Alan Sakin.
Thank you very much. Thank you everyone for having me today. I'm glad that you guys remember me from the event, the epic event we had on Saturday. Can you guys give me a yes on 3? 1, 2, 3.
Yes!
1, 2, 3.
Yes!
1, 2, 3.
Yes!
Love it.
All right.
So, you guys are jazzed from that. I love it. So, we will be covering a few topics here. Tips for you guys as founders. Are you guys pretty excited with your ideas right now?
Yeah.
Yeah? Are you guys feeling like the projects are coming together? The team's coming together? The business coming together? Yeah?
Yes.
Okay, very good. So before we start, I do want to do this activity. It's a very, very short activity. It's very easy. You guys can remain seated. The activity is to all hum at the same frequency. Okay? So I'll start humming, and then you guys all try to synchronize with me and really feel what we all feel like together. Okay? Ready? It's pretty cool, isn't it?
Yeah.
If we open our mouths, it gets even louder. Let's do one with open mouth. Ah. So that's synchronization. And my voice is obviously not beautiful, so I don't practice it. All right. Thank you for the introduction. A little bit of background about me. Yes, my name's Alan Sakyan. Right now I am a science communicator. I host a science comedy show called Eureka! in San Francisco, where scientists come and present and ask audience members questions while comedians crack jokes throughout the entire show. It's a cacophony of laughter and learning. Does that sound like fun?
Yeah.
All right, cool. Maybe we'll do more science comedy with you guys. In future. If you guys could help me out, I think this is gonna actually be really fun. One of my friends started a company called AmpSlide.com. They're brand— they're pretty, pretty new. Not too many people use them. If you just go to AmpSlide.com and you enter the code 996, you don't need to log in or anything, you just enter the presentation code. What I'll be able to do in real time is you guys will be able to ask me questions.
Oh, cool.
So you'll be able to poll in questions just by clicking the bottom left corner, and then I'll see them on my screen. Also, I'll send you guys live polls. So as we go through the presentation, I'll send you a poll, and then we'll take your live results in, and then I'll show you the poll live, and we'll discuss the answers. Sound good?
Good.
Cool.
Is anyone on amp-slide.com and has entered the presentation code? OK, that's good, like 10 people or so. So we should at least have 15 answers per— let's try and get that up to 20 if possible.
Again— If you have your phone, can you please take it out and put the presentation code? Or if you have your laptop. So can everybody— I know we say no phone, but can everybody take their phones out and laptops and put the presentation code?
It'll be really exciting. The engagement level is really exciting. Other things that you'll be able to do are you'll be able to share each individual— you'll be able to take notes on each individual slide right there in AmpSlide. And then if you want to, you can save all of your notes and email all your notes with the slides to yourself afterward. Really effective. You'll have the slide and the notes. Also, you'll be able to share in real time that actual slide. If a slide makes a profound impact on you, you can share it on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, however you'd like. All right, do we have more of you on AmpSlide now?
Yep.
Okay, cool. All right, let's get some energy in here. 1, 2, 3.
Yes!
1, 2, 3.
Yes!
1, 2, 3.
Yes!
All right, good energy. All right, so, can anyone tell me what this word means? Yes. Yes, that is a very good definition. It means wide-ranging learning. The word is polymath. These words— this word I— there's so much knowledge out in the world. It's really difficult to say that somebody actually knows a lot, a lot about a lot of different things because you realize that The reality is, is that you know so little once you learn more. Is that right? Yes. So this is really important as we move into the future, is to make interdisciplinary connections across multiple industries. It'll help you as entrepreneurs. How about— do we have a little delay? There we go. It's a little slower. Yeah, the sync's a little off. but it's okay. Well, there's what that means. You guys got to see it early. So the other word is empath, an emotional intelligence expert, somebody that knows how to empathize with people well. They know how to have a growth mindset, how to perspective take with other people. This is also another major skill to develop in a world of fast automation, in a world of entrepreneurship, The better you can empathize and have a high emotional intelligence, the more you'll be able to succeed in your business. Alright, so this is gonna be a little overview. We're gonna go through these 12 tips: find your passion, strategize execution, ask personal questions, take concise notes, templates, Google Calendar, scaled pricing, equanimity, celebrate success, referrals, learning culture, and health.
Okay?
Sound good?
Yes.
All right, cool. So let's start with a poll. So I'm going to click poll here, and I'm going to send out the first poll. Let me know if you see that on your screens. Yeah? You guys see it? Good, OK.
No.
No? But you did? Some do?
His works.
His works? OK. Yours isn't working? Okay, so on some it's working. Is that not working on mobile? You got it? Okay. Android works. iPhone works too?
Yeah.
OK. Which browser are you in?
Chrome.
Chrome?
Safari.
Safari?
And it worked.
And it worked in Safari? In Chrome it did not work?
It worked.
It worked in Chrome?
Yeah.
OK. So let's go ahead and if you stay on the screen a little bit longer, let's see if the question will pop up. So we'll take and submit those answers and then we'll look at it in just a quick minute. Why is this so important? Why is this so important? Your essence, what you wake up to do every single morning, why is it so important for you to constantly try new things until you figure out what you love doing? Why else would you start the business and try and bring value to the world if you didn't absolutely adore what you did?
Right?
Yes, we're on speaking terms, yes?
Yes.
Yes. All right. So having this theme and waking up every day and knowing what you're passionate about is going to catalyze tremendous success in you. So let's pull up the poll. Let's see what you guys responded.
