It's simple, really. To understand your customers' evolving needs and to address them, you have to talk to them periodically, to take care of them, to meet them. Obviously not every one of them, but certain representatives of certain categories. This has a fancy name of customer development. That involves meeting your current clients, your prospective clients, or creating focus groups of people you would like to deliver the service to so you can better understand their needs. Now, the tricky part is what of those needs do you introduce immediately and what you introduce in time? And that, of course, is a cost-benefit analysis. And that really comes down to understanding your resources and understanding your priorities and understanding the priority of needs so that the customers will remain happy and customers will remain seeing value in your offering.
