How to get into the Entrepreneur Mindset | Investor Naveen Jain

Naveen Jain breaks down three types of people: those who see problems, visionaries who propose solutions, and entrepreneurs who actually execute. He argues execution matters far more than ideas, and that innovation is simply thinking about problems differently.

The point is there are so many great ideas. Ideas are a dime a dozen. The person who becomes successful is the person who goes out and takes any one of these ideas and goes out and executes on them. See, entrepreneur— entrepreneurship is actually not about starting a company. So most people think becoming an entrepreneur means you start a company. Entrepreneurship actually is a state of mind. It is about learning to solve the problem. So I, in my world, there are 3 types of people. The people who see the problem, and since all of us are really good at seeing the problem, I call them human beings. Some of us are smart enough to come up with a solution to those problems, and those are the visionaries and the creative types. And there's only one type of people in the world that goes out and does something about it and executes on it, And those brilliant people are called entrepreneurs. So if you are a problem solver, whether you are inside the company, whether at home, wherever you are, if you're going out and solving the problem, then you are an entrepreneur. You don't have to start a company to become an entrepreneur. It is just a vehicle for you to go out and execute. But there are many, many ways of doing it. So don't think that if you are inside the company, you can't have entrepreneurial thinking. Your entrepreneurship, the state of mind, can be applied Anywhere, whatever you do in life, you can be entrepreneurial about it. When you go out on a date, you can be very entrepreneurial about that. You can come up with a new business model for that, right? That how would you— why would somebody date you? What's your business model? What is it that you are offering and where is the trade-off here, right? So innovation to me is about thinking about the problem differently than other people have thought about the same problem. Thank you.
