In this talk, Andy Tang outlines three futuristic investment themes he focuses on: the "elixir of life" (immortality through regenerative medicine and CRISPR), space exploration and colonization, and "chrysopia" (the metaphorical turning of lead into gold, representing transformative technologies). He argues that each area is closer to reality than commonly believed, applying a 10‑year horizon and Moore’s Law to suggest rapid progress. Tang connects these themes to blockchain, proposing cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Litecoin as potential mechanisms to fund space travel for future generations. He shares a personal immigrant family story—grandparents fleeing war to Taiwan, parents moving to the U.S., and his own children’s fascination with space—to illustrate his motivation. The talk concludes with a call to imagination, urging the audience to adopt a long‑term view and envision the future as theirs.

I did all that talking so I can get to this slide, because as exciting as I think blockchain is, my world doesn't revolve around the blockchain. There are 3 investment areas I focus on. We'll start with the elixir of life. This is another way of saying immortality. And then the other one, exploring space. This is traveling space, colonizing space. What is the difference between exploring space and colonizing space? The middle one is chrysopia. This is basically turning lead into gold. So this is what you guys do. This is what we do. Okay? So when I was— I was actually speaking at a space conference earlier this week, and I said to them, this is the 3 areas. And they all think the elixir of life, the immortality, and the lead turning into gold is like just some myth. They don't believe it. They think that's just BS. So when I'm talking to the blockchain guys, you probably think the immortality stuff is, you know, it's not credible, colonizing space is not. The reality is that we're closer than you think. In each one of these areas, there's some interesting things. Regenerative medicine, you know, CRISPR technology, it could basically cure any disease. It's a matter of time. Again, you take a 10-year view. Take a 10-year view, I wouldn't be surprised. I mean, we could already land on the moon, it's just expensive. Moore's Law applies to all 3 of these areas. I thought I'd end the talk with a little personal story. So my parents— actually, my grandparents came from China, and because of war, they went to Taiwan by boat. At the time, they used these silver coins. Because they were pursuing a better life for their kids. My parents went from Taiwan to the US because they thought I probably wouldn't make it in the education system, and they were probably right. So they saved up all their US dollars, and then they got us to America. And my kids now, they're watching Star Wars. They're fascinated with space. So they wanted to probably go to, I don't know, Planet Hoth, Tatooine. Somewhere, right? I don't know, but I think it's probably a good idea. The way we're destroying this planet— the only thing I'm trying to figure out is how do I get them up there? Is it by Bitcoin? Is it by Litecoin? Whatever it is. So that's where I end my talk. This is San Francisco, 1851. Use your imagination. The future is ours. Take a 10-year view. Thank you very much. Thank you.
