Nailstry founder Aurelia Edwards explains how mentors taught her to pitch by practicing with her repeatedly and pushing her toward authentic storytelling. She learned to ask for help instead of pretending to have all the answers.

Having a network is really important. Having mentors and people that you can ask for help. It's not something that I think we learn in traditional school, like how to ask for help. And mentors have taught me, number one, how to pitch, like pitch practice. So that's been a really big thing is how to talk about the company, just authentically being who you are, not knowing that you don't always have to get the answers right. You don't always have to know the answer, but as long as you're willing to find out what that is to make sure that you can be the best person that you can be.
