Tim Draper argues that mega funds run by former investment bankers have been overrated, and venture capital is shifting back toward investors who actually support entrepreneurs. He's optimistic about growth-stage VCs taking a bigger role.

The more effort you put in, the more luck you get. So I think venture capital will always go through fits and starts. Recently, there have been these mega funds. I think they were overfunded and the funds were raised by people who were investment bankers. They weren't venture capitalists and they didn't do so well. And now there's a new wave toward venture capitalists who are really dedicated to the entrepreneur and what they're doing. And I think that that is a healthy change. And eventually there is room for growth venture capitalists. I think they'll make a big difference too.
