Okay, it's time for Advanced Media Tip of the Day. And I mean super Advanced Media Tip of the day. I confess I've never done this, but it was just subjected to me and I have to say it was fantastic. Recently I had a professional colleague, Diane Diresta, a well known author, expert on public speaking, as a guest on my Long form audio podcast. A couple days went by and I get a card in the mail. It's a thank you note. But it's not just any thank you note. She has a picture of me from the show where I'm doing an interview and she pulled that from YouTube, has the name of my company on it. Media Training Worldwide. Open it up. It's nicely printed. Dear tj, thank you for the wonderful interview today. I like the format and enjoyed being your guinea pig, Diane. And she put a little picture of a guinea pig. What she's referring to is she was only the first or second person I interviewed in my new format. So this is just so classy. I personally have interviewed, if not thousands, at least in the high, high hundreds of experts, politicians, political figures, business people over the last 30 years during a lot of radio and TV broadcasts. I've never received a thank you note that was this thoughtful and this clever and well thought out. And I've probably only received half a dozen thank you notes in my lifetime. True confession. I don't send thank you notes when I'm on shows and I should. Diane Diresta is a class act. This is a true act of professionalism and it's just so memorable. The beauty of it, putting the host picture on the thank you note. Here's a little thing about talk show host. I don't care if you're a Rush Limbaugh or an NPR host or post of a podcast with one listener, all talk show hosts have huge egos. They can say they're humble and meek and mild. Have huge egos. So when you send them something with their picture on it, they love it and they remember it. So Diane already had very high thoughts about you. Even more so now you are the media master with the media training tip of the day. Thanks for sharing. By the way. The reason this is all also important is while I already had Diane high up, I have her in my Twitter feed that I follow. She's even more high up if I'm in a need of a quick emergency guest or someone else I can partner with. She just is much more top of mind now. So well done, Diane, the media master of the week.
