TJ Walker explains why most diets fail at the population level but work for individuals: your body is literally the result of what you eat. The key is making sustainable changes, not following fads.

Every diet book points out that diets don't work. We've heard that and in fact, it's true. There's empirical evidence that when you put people on diets, whether it's three months after they're done, six months after they're back to where they were or they've gained more weight. So it is true in a sense to say diets don't work. But here's the thing. Look at any one person who you think, wow, they are in perfect condition, they are at their ideal weight, their diet works for them. So in a sense, every single diet does work. The body you get is a direct reflection of what you eat, which is your diet. So the body you're getting is working based on the diet you have. You want a better body, you're going to have to change your diet. It just can't be something weird or kooky or uncomfortable that you're going to hate doing for the long run. Please follow the TJ Walker habit.
