A short instructional YouTube video by TJ Walker offering practical tips for making PowerPoint presentations more engaging. Core advice in this chunk: start your presentation with no visible slide content (a blank slide) so the audience looks at you, allowing you to establish authority and make the slides a supporting enhancement rather than the star of the show.
Are you looking for the perfect way to start every single PowerPoint presentation? Then use this slide right here. Do you see that? There's nothing there. That's right. You have to look at me. Now. That's what I believe you should do in every PowerPoint presentation. Establish your authority. Establish your legitimacy. When you stand up to speak, to present. Even if you have 150 slides to go through, you want eyes on you. You want people to realize you are the expert. The slideshow is there to support you, to be an enhancement for your audience. But that's not the star of the show. You are the star of the show. And the way to establish that is the beginning of your presentation. No slides at all. Just you.
