How Body Language Can Make or Break Your Public Speaking Success

TJ Walker explains why body language matters as much as words when you're presenting. Keep your hands free to gesture naturally, maintain eye contact, and let your face show expression. Your movements need to match what you're saying.

Body language plays a crucial role in your speeches, in your presentations. It's never just about the words, it's never about the message. It is also about your style, your body language, how you move, what you're doing with your eyes, your face, your hands, the movement of your body. Everything has to be in sync because you could be delivering the most important messages in the world. If you're reading like this and all they see is the top of your head, no eyes, no expression, no body movement, everybody is going to fall asleep. It's just human nature, especially in these days when people are used to so much excitement and constant stimulation. So you've got to use your body in a way that really connects. Now, the good news is you don't have to do a dance, you don't have to do cartwheels. You have to learn new hand movements. But what you do have to do is be relaxed, be comfortable. Show you're relaxed to your audience and show you care about them. You can't do that if your body is holding hands, fiddling with pens, dropping things. You have to have your hands free and really looking at people, gesturing the way people do when they are comfortable, confident, relaxed. Can you relate to this at all? Have you ever felt like your body language was a bit stiff, Uncomfortable? If so, please leave a comment below. And if you're getting any value out of this so far, please like the video right now. So here's an advanced tip. If you really want to come across incredibly comfortable and confident and relaxed, I recommend don't even hold a remote in your hand. To push the PowerPoint, use a keyboard and just hit the space bar. It will advance. You can be walking around a stage, walking near a lectern, and then when you need the next slide, just hit the space bar. This keeps your hands completely free and really allows for all of your body language to be completely relaxed and as comfortable and as confident as you would be if you were just having dinner with a good friend. If you want to become more comfortable and confident in all your presentations and make sure that your body language is in sync with your message, everything else, then I've got a free video for you. It's the High Stakes Presenter. It's a free training course. You can click on that right now. It's in the description. There's absolutely no cost. Thanks for joining me.
