This is a podcast episode titled with a URL link from January 26, 2017, featuring TJ Walker giving advice on how to perform better in television or video interviews by emphasizing the importance of natural movement to appear confident and believable on camera.
For most people, the hardest type of interview to do is a television interview or any interview where there's a video camera involved. Here's the biggest tip you really need to know in order to look your best on camera. You need to move. Unfortunately, when people are nervous, they act natural, but the natural thing to do is to act scared. When we are scared, we become like little bunny rabbits. We just freeze. When your hands are frozen, your body's frozen, your face is frozen and nothing is moving but your lips, you're not very believable. You're going to look scared, stiff and uncomfortable. So you need to practice on video until you can see yourself moving. Your hands need to move, your face, your eyebrows, your body. Nothing jerky. You don't want to be fidgeting with your ring finger or twitching, but you do want movement, especially hand movement.
