He's a gentleman who works in the public affairs department in the Somalian government. And he said, tj, I need to get better at speaking English. Do you have any advice for me? I'm going to have to be doing interviews in English. How do I get better? How do I build my vocabulary? So, Oxman, my advice to you is to, number one, record and listen to three or four broadcasts of people you like and respect who are broadcasting in English. It could be BBC, commentators, cnn, Al Jazeera, you name it. But really listen to them carefully in how they're presenting the news. Number two, I would like for you to record yourself either doing a news summary or a commentary on the news on the same subjects, to do it every single day. Something brief. It could be 60 seconds. Number three, you need to watch and listen to yourself. Listen to how you sound versus how these professional broadcasters sound. It's not that you need to mimic, but they can be influences. You can have role models. Number four, post that video on your own YouTube channel, whether it's government channel or just your own personal as a civilian channel on YouTube. Number five, watch, read, listen to all feedback. Some people will be mean, some people will be harsh. You've got to look at all of it and figure out what's working, what isn't working. And. And over time, you'll get more and more comfortable and confident speaking in English for all of your official spokesperson duties. Good luck.
