Some of you have been with me since the beginning of this podcast. This is the 52nd episodes. This is the end of our first year, our first season. I do want to thank you for spending time with me each week. Hope you have valued benefited from some of the tips here. I want to leave you at the end of this first year with really the most important tip. Sort of the ultimate communications prep. It's what I do, what I recommend my clients do, regardless of the communication you're trying to do. Step one Figure out what is it you want that person or a group of people to do? That's your first step. STEP 2 what are the messages that you really want and think will motivate them to do what you want them to do? Isolate exactly what those messages are. Make sure it's five or fewer. Maybe it's just one, but figure out what those messages are. That's the second step. The third step is figure out examples, case studies, and stories to dramatize to illustrate that point. Simply stating something directly typically is too abrupt and doesn't work. So make sure you have your stories ready. Step 4 Practice what you want to say on video. Even if it's a personal conversation with a family member. I know it sounds corporate and almost contrived. It can help. It can make you more comfortable, more focused when you're in the moment. So practice what you want to say on video. Watch it. And step five Keep redoing the practice until you love every aspect of your style and substance. Do that and you will be ready to communicate effectively.
