A short YouTube video (TJ Walker) giving quick presentation tips: three specific hand/face gestures to avoid during speeches. Walker describes (1) an exaggerated or fake gesture that 'no one has ever done in real life', (2) a smushed-thumb pointing-style gesture some politicians use, and (3) putting fingers in the mouth, which he calls the worst.
Three gestures you never want to use when you're giving a speech or presentation. For starters, this. No one has ever done this in real life. It looks ridiculous. Next, don't ever do this. Someone somewhere told a politician, don't ever point. So some of them started doing this with a smushed thumb. It looks ridiculous. No one's ever done that in real life. And finally, don't put your fingers in your mouth. That looks the worst of all.
