A financial advisor who's worked with tens of thousands of investors argues that schools should teach people to run their finances and careers like a business. Most people only think about money at tax time or in emergencies, missing the chance to build wealth and freedom through strategic planning.
One of the things I see more than anything working with tens of thousands of investors over the years is that most people are not managing their personal wealth business. The problem is most people only get to their finances when it's tax time, when there is a bill to pay, when there's an emergency, or when it's too late. And so most people are not running their finances like a business. And here is what I learned along the way, was that I was just working hard in this new role in the world of investing, but I wasn't actually managing the business of my career. I was just working hard. The point about this is that we're not taught to run our career or our finances, how to build wealth, how to invest strategically, how to create freedom in our life, which I believe is our fucking birthright.
