I got involved in the world of investing. In my very first deal, I made more money in that one property deal than my entire year as a personal trainer. I just learnt this beautiful word called leverage and I fell in love with the world of investing. I got that first property and went into my next one, my next one after that. What I learnt was that I wound up building a house of cards. Everything was looking beautiful from the outside, the portfolio looked— all it took was for the economic winds to blow in the opposite direction and I lost everything and had to start all over again. Why about my mid-20s, which is a fun and humbling experience, and having to go and take a really strong, hard look at how I was building wealth. It changed my whole perspective on how I do everything now. Now I'm very methodical rather than being random. There's a system for it. It's not luck.
