High earners trade time for money, but wealth requires leverage. Working hard has a ceiling because income stops when you stop working. Real wealth comes from owning assets that generate income whether you're working or not.
Chapters
You can be the hardest working person in the room and still end up with nothing to show for it. We were raised on effort. Work harder, do more, stay later. That's the path to success. And to be fair, it works. It gets you the income, it gets you the fancy title, and it even gets you some respect. But effort has a ceiling. There are only so many hours in the day and you wind up becoming the bottleneck to your own success. There's only so much you can produce with your own energy. And so the moment you stop, well, guess what? Your income stops with it. That's not leverage. That's a job. You see, wealth isn't about how hard you work. It's about how much your money works for you when you are not working. That right there is a shift from input to ownership, from effort to leverage. Effort in the end is what you trade. Ownership, that's the very thing you end up keeping.
