Blockbuster had the resources to go digital but didn't, and it died. Before you invest in or build something, ask yourself: why this and why now? Timing matters more than you think.
Third, is it in alignment with trends? Is this product and business aligned with market trends? Like, think about Blockbuster. Blockbuster doesn't exist. They didn't go and move with the times. They had an opportunity to get involved in the online streaming space early on, and they chose not to take it because they were stuck in their old business model, which at the time was a great model, but it was not in alignment with trends. The question we're going to ask ourselves is why this and why now?
