Tom Burton discusses using blockchain technology—specifically immutable records and digital signatures—as a way to tag and authenticate content origins, with the goal of distinguishing authentic human-created content from AI-generated material. He suggests blockchain can store tamper-evident signatures so others can verify whether content is authentic or AI-produced.

That rather than using AI to spot non authenticated content how do you use AI to actually basically tag and have certainty on who where that content is coming from? Whether that's through digital signatures. This is I think where the blockchain will really, really start to actually come to life. Right because the blockchain is all about using that types of things to have that basically that non something that can never be changed or go away. So it allows you to use the digital signatures. And in a way he didn't get into that there but I believe that's a big use of the where the blockchain will fit in. But yeah he's really, you know and obviously it's an issue right Is that how do you tag if you want to call it that or sign or whatever that your content is actually authentic and be able to then let others know that versus you know, content that's not, that's not authentic and generated through the AI process.
