A short YouTube conversation (Tom Burton and Speaker A) about the administration's approach to tariff laws and the need for clarity. Speaker A recounts a Chinese manufacturer expecting roughly a 50% tariff for about a year; Tom Burton proposes using AI to synthesize current-year data and predict next year’s outcomes. The clip frames tariffs as an uncertain policy tool with real business planning impacts and suggests data-driven forecasting as a potential response.

I think what the, the administration, in my opinion, is missing right now is the opportunity to say, look, instead of using this as a hammer, let's just get it done. You know, get the Supreme Court ruling of do you have to. You, can you use the statutes that you used or do you have to use one of the other three or four that we've discussed a number of time on times on the show, pick what it is and then get them settled? Right. Is, you know, I think I mentioned last, last show, not last week, but the prior show. I had met with somebody earlier in the week from a Chinese manufacturing company. And you know, he kind of, I don't say alluded to. He actually said it. He said that, you know, there is a level of thinking at a lot of Chinese manufacturing firms specifically related to the industrial segment which he was involved with. And we had a gentleman visit us, visit us at our offices and we had this discussion and he was saying there's kind of a thinking that for at least a year there's going to be about a 50% tariff there. So we'll see what comes next out of it.
You know, I just had a, I think, which would be a billion dollar idea, we should take the yearbook like that we're talking about, but then ask AI to use all of the data from this year to predict what's going to happen next year.
