A short excerpt from a YouTube video (Tom Burton, "Want to stop emailing spreadsheets forever? #Innovation") in which a speaker argues that cloud-based data sharing is safer and more collaborative than emailing spreadsheets. The speaker highlights reduced risk of accidental sharing, advantages of sharing aggregate rather than sensitive subject-level data, and increasing acceptance of collaborative tools and workflows.

I think that technology has allowed for a safer way to share data. For one, you know, you're not just like putting together a spreadsheet and hoping that that company doesn't share it around or sending it to the wrong person by mistake. Seeing that happen, you know, I think that there are nice cloud based ways that data can be shared and analyzed and really the aggregate comes out as opposed to just, you know, the critical subject matter data. I also think that there is, there is a little bit more of an acceptance that it requires collaboration.
