The Fed should cut rates 0.5% in October instead of splitting smaller cuts across two months. Larger, earlier cuts would quickly boost borrowing, investment, and hiring, with upside outweighing the risk that rates rise later.

There's the following up article again from CNBC and this one is a government shutdown is likely to cement more Fed interest rate cuts. Well this article says that the markets have priced in 100% probability of an October cut and an 88% chance of another in December. I look at this and just say the difference between the risk versus the reward of a half a point versus a quarter point in a one month period right? If you're going to get the other half a point in December get it in October and see if we can push something ahead faster. The risk is is probably far far less than the reward that can come with that. Pump the money into the economy right away. Get the rates down. Borrow money at a lower rate for the banks. Get it out into the economy start building some warehouses and some distribution centers and adding some jobs and so forth and even if it has to go back up you got that money at a lower rate and nobody loses.
