The Supreme Court will decide if recent tariffs are legal and whether to order refunds if they're not. One speaker thinks the Court will strike them down but won't impose penalties, though each day makes that outcome less likely. Within weeks, the Court might defer to Congress that the emergency has ended, halting further collection.
My what I
understand there's only two primary things that they are going to rule on One is is a legal or illegal and secondly do you have to give refunds if it's ruled illegal Is there are you ordered to give refunds for this because it was in a illegally obtained revenue that's the only two things I know
my gut says and but every day that goes by is less and less likely but today I would say they'll probably strike it down but not penalties or refunds. I think that if you if we talk about this again in two weeks I might say that they come back and follow what Congress said which was hey this is no longer an emergency don't do this again.
So maybe the softest landing would be this is no longer an emergency. You have 90 days to stop collecting tariffs under the Emergency Protection act. Right Obviously there's going to be no refunds or anything like that and then they have 90 days to sort out is there another way to collect.
