Tom Guarriello explains the zeitgeist as the spirit of a moment, the collection of prevailing themes right now. He asks you to submit one image, song, object, or anything else that captures today's zeitgeist and explain why it does.

Hi, it's Tom Guarriello. You know, one of the most interesting ideas for me is the idea of a zeitgeist. Now, you know, zeitgeist is a German word, and I guess literally it is translated as spirit of the times. And You know, the zeitgeist is that kind of general sense of where we are at any particular point in time. And, you know, the big themes, if you will, of the time kind of come together and form the zeitgeist. And sometimes the zeitgeist is hard to discern. And other times it's easier to discern. I'm gonna grab a few images here and show you them as a way of demonstrating how sometimes an image can just crystallize the spirit of the times and just capture something so well. So what I was thinking about today is, how would you capture today's zeitgeist? Right now? How would you capture it in— not necessarily in words, but, you know, in an image, in, um, you know, maybe it's a song that you think captures the zeitgeist. Maybe you think it's, uh, I don't know, uh, an object of some kind, a piece of apparel, or, uh, I don't know what it is, a book, something. What do you think captures the spirit of the times. And then if you could talk about why you think that object captures the zeitgeist, that'd be, uh, particularly cool. I'd really like to hear your thoughts about that. So just a quick, uh, question about, you know, how do you capture today's zeitgeist? Um, let me know. I've got thoughts about it, but you always hear my thoughts. I want to hear more of your thoughts. So, uh, looking forward to getting your responses. Videos would be terrific. Thanks a lot and see you again soon. Bye. Bye-bye.
