Tom Guarriello praises Greg Solomon's logical dismantling of an atheist video's faulty premises. He notes Greg's critique is rigorous and non-personalized, contrasting with criticism of Greg's sometimes tongue-in-cheek style. Tom recommends seeking out reasoned debates like this one and similar creators like Perry Urban.

Well, hi, good morning, it's Tom Guarriello. I wanted to make a quick video response to Greg Solomon's video in which he responded to The Atheist video. Now, I want to preface this by saying that I don't believe that Greg divulged his personal beliefs in a God or not in his video. I think his definition of an agnostic was rather broad. But that's quibbling for me. I think the point that I want to make is that if you listen carefully to Greg's logical analysis of the atheist video, I think you'll agree, if listened to with an open mind, that the video does a terrific job of dismantling what is, I believe, a video based on faulty premises, as Greg has pointed out in his video. You know, in the past, Greg's taken a lot of heat, some of which I believe has been justified because in many instances I think he's been more than a little tongue-in-cheek in his videos. Go back and take a look, for example, at the video he made in response to Blunty's video, the one where he holds up English CDs to show that he has no prejudice against the English. Of course, Blunty being Australian made it even funnier. But I think in the past Greg's taken a lot of heat from a lot of people about his videos, as many of us have taken heat. Maybe not as much as Greg, but most of us are not as popular as Greg is. But I think this video is really a terrific example. Of a trend that— a little mini-trend that I'm— that I've been running into here of really excellent logical analysis of points of view. If you haven't seen them, I recommend you go look at Perry Urban's videos on global warming. I think Perry's doing a terrific service to the community in logically and not dispassionately— there is some passion in his in his argument, but not personalizing the disagreement between people around this issue. And I don't think Greg personalized the issue around the atheist video. I think he pointed out what he saw as the flaws in the argument made by the video, many of which I concur with in terms of the flaws of the argument. So, Greg, I just wanted to make this in response and and let you know I thought that was a terrific video. So thanks very much.
