Tom Guarriello urges shy and introverted people to share their creative work online, arguing that tools for writing, speaking, and recording are now available to everyone. He admits his own discomfort on camera and says stumbling is part of learning. The world needs what introverts have to contribute.

Well, hi, it's Tom. This is a video directed at the shy. You know, there's a lot of you people who are watching this video on my blog or watching it on Seesmic or watching it through iTunes as a podcast or listening to it through iTunes as a podcast or watching it on YouTube who have never recorded, written, or sung anything online. And we need you out here. We need the shy people. You know, the world is filled with wonderfully talented introverts. People who not only in that classic sense of what it is to be an introvert look inside for their own inspiration and stimulation but also are shy, are reluctant to let what they find in there out into the world and share it with the rest of us. We're in the very beginning of an enormously powerful revolution where all of us are having— all of us have— see, you have to stumble in order to be comfortable. You don't get comfortable without stumbling. We're in this early part of this revolution where all of us have the means of production at our fingertips. Everything that we need to express what's inside us is at hand, ready in hand for us, ready to let it out. What you need to do is to let it out. So please make a response, write something, post it on my blog, get used to letting yourself hear yourself speak, watch yourself write, read your words, listen to yourself. It's a great opportunity for us, but we've got to have the courage to come out of our shells and let ourselves try it. It hasn't been easy for me, I'll tell you. It took me a long time to get comfortable to be able to sit in front of this camera and to just Let my ideas flow. You can do it, but you've got to try. So please do. I'm looking forward to seeing what you can produce. Take care. See you soon. Bye-bye.
