Tom backs Renetto's push for YouTube to explain why it suspends accounts and let creators appeal. The YoungTuber channel vanished without explanation. Vague policies put every creator at risk of losing their work with no recourse.

Well, hey guys, it's Tom. I just wanted to make a quick video to call your attention to Renetto's— I'm going to call it a campaign at this point— to calling on YouTube to establish some kind of a process to allow suspended account holders to first of all understand what the reason is for the suspension of their account, and second of all, to give those account holders some kind of due process to appeal those suspensions. Now, I have no opinion about any of the particular people whose accounts have been suspended that are either in Renetto's videos or anybody else's videos. I was part of a support for the YoungTubers group Um, because it seems to me that those accounts, that, that, uh, that particular account, the YoungTuber account, was suspended for reasons that I never understood, and that UpDownMostly, Tim, has done a great job of calling attention to. But I just wanted to thank Paul for going out and, uh, uh, making this issue a more public, visible issue, because, um, if anybody's account is vulnerable to be suspended for reasons that are not clear, then all of our accounts are. Vulnerable in the same way. And, you know, we've put a lot of work into creating these videos, and to just have them taken down for reasons that are never made clear to us just doesn't strike me as the right thing. So, Paul, I wanted to thank you for again making this issue public and more public. And, um, uh, just made a video to let you know that I'm certainly in support of some kind of a process getting established for, uh, suspended accounts. So take care, and I'll see you guys again soon. Bye-bye.
